 for Senior Leaders​

Resilience is key to building and maintaining workplace wellbeing. It is the fuel of healthy high performance within teams. In any working environment where employees are vulnerable or feel overwhelmed, resilient leadership is instrumental in preventing pressures and demands from building up to breaking point.

The 6-day programme will support you in developing key skills in enabling you to support yourself and others within the workplace.  Emotional Intelligence and coaching underpin this rich 6-day training.

Becoming an EQ ambassador and coach within your environment will give you the leading edge in nurturing yourself and your staff in maintaining peak performance.
To maintain workplace resilience, successful future leaders will have to lead with a coaching style.  A coaching approach delivers the highest performance, understanding and developing emotional intelligence of ourselves and that of our staff is utmost important to support with resilience.

The programme is also designed to support with the new Leadership standards and the skills underpin many of the strands within the Professional Standards document.

Delegates will be able to:
  • Recognise staff that are in need of EQ support through developing their self-awareness and self-regulation. Explore the core principles of EQ skills and how this underpins leadership development
  • Become coaches and EQ Leaders within their establishments; they will become ambassadors in ensuring that the coaching techniques and models are embedded within the day to day culture of the school.

Aim of the programme:
​
  • Understand ‘me’ within my role
  • Further develop EQ across all departments
  • Develop senior and middle leaders coaching skills
  • Understanding of team dynamics – respecting roles of others in a supporting capacity
  • Develop an in house mentoring programme through peer coaching, this will enable staff to further develop and share good practice
  • Support senior leaders and build leadership gravitas with key elements from the corporate world. This will enable delegates to efficiently manage their own personal team
  • Develop language patterns and the impact this has on the team dynamics and also pupils
  • Develop the GROW model within department meetings to ensure a clear concise way forward to objectives and targets
  • Senior and middle leadership to gain a deep understanding of the impact on the GROW model - this will ensure clarity of staff holding each other accountable for development plans
  • Gain a deep understanding of each other’s core values to ensure respect for each staff member and their role within the school (this has a knock-on effect to stress and resilience)
  • Development of personal language patterns to create solution focused conversations
  • Develop deep listening skills and use the power of clean language to challenge and motivate others
  • Develop reframing language patterns to support with positive Growth mindset culture
  • How to develop time management in an elegant capacity, which enables staff to have a calm and collective approach to situations e.g. meetings, parents, work load pressures and deadlines
  • Develop a 2 year coaching and EQ action plan for their establishment.
 
Day 1: Beginning with leadership from the inside out, building
            sustainable strategies to the role
Day 2: Empathy and team relationships
Day 3: Influencing skills / language
Day 4: What is Coaching and mentoring?
Day 5: Developing coaching skills within the role
Day 6: Cascading a coaching culture within your establishment (next steps) sustainability 
Providing a coaching culture within the education system can provide educators with rich tools and resources to drive performance and raise standards in schools.  Teachers and leaders are self-reflective practitioners which can support the development of a coaching culture within the workplace.

Creating this strong culture can have a significant impact on staff morale as we become focused and open to challenges which in turn help leaders and teachers improve the lives of young people.
This 3 day programme combines a variety of skills that support established leaders to develop a deeper set of language tools.

The tools learnt during these days will support an individual with the inner confidence to challenge staff in a strong, graceful manner. They will build upon skills to maintain accountability and hold difficult conversations within the workplace. It supports with time management during meetings and how to sharpen the saw when it comes to language skills.
The programme is also designed to support with the new Leadership standards, the skills underpin many of the strands within the Professional Standards document.
 
Aim of the programme:

  • How to use effective questioning techniques with our teams
  • Understand the key skills and models for coaching and be able to apply these in a coaching relationship across departments
  • How to utilise clean language questioning techniques
  • Develop various coaching models within conversations
  • Gaining rapport within conversations
  • Sustainability of techniques
  • Learn a variety of tools and techniques which will enable you to coach in a variety of contexts across the whole workplace
  • Hold solution focused conversations
  • Look in depth at Individual learning styles (NLP Techniques) to best tailor goals and structures
  • Understand sensory acuity of others
  • Emotional Intelligence with staff (EQ)
  • Get a critical understanding of the role and responsibilities of the workplace coach and mentor – Defining the difference between coaching and mentoring
  • Develop deep and rich questioning techniques, active listening skills and influencing skills
  • Understanding the skills, principles and practice of effective management
